Awww, me!

While me and Hannah were out erranding, we stopped in an antique store and she whipped out her camera:

Me, as of August 11, 2005

I like this picture alot. I have this blend between a devout seriousness and sillyness. While you can see the sweater draped on my shoulder, off camera I’m holding up a free Creative Loafing newpaper in a mock re-enactment of the presentation of the 10 commandments. I don’t know if Hannah got the joke, but we took a good photo out of it.

My good for nothing brother wrote a great entry about superstition. Take some time to think about it and tell him you think. Off the top of my head I can find 5 people I know who could take issue with it ^__^

Monies.

I managed to spend 400 dollars before noon. Stuff like that doesn’t happen too often. Ended up with new glasses and a new front tooth though, so stuff like that works out.

Here’s some more of the photo-manip I’ve done lately:

I liked how the window frames each of the main elements of the picture. Here’s the original photo for comparison.

School starts monday, but the bastards haven’t given me my schedule yet. Grr.

Creative Recovery

In my last entry, I talked about feeling a Creative Depression. After the post I got a few suggestions as to how I could go about getting myself out of the rut:

  • Hannah suggested I summarize my summer in some sort of visual medium.
  • erislore liked my examples
  • My good for nothing brother suggested I make a 30 minute film. Although it sounds interesting, I don’t think I could manage it with my camera. The maximum of 15 seconds per shot and the lack of sound probably wouldn’t work for anything but a German art film.

I’m working on Hannah’s now, but I went ahead with erislore’s advice and took on one of my own examples.

The page itself explains it. Play around with it, and tell me what you think. I’m also glad to say it was a good mood booster for working on other arts.
