I haven’t done that in years. I don’t quite fit into that bathtub anymore.

I feel sorry for people who can’t –or refuse to– cook. Frankly, there aren’t many place out there worth eating food from.

Let’s name some of the inexpensive places around my house to get food:

• Italian Oven
• Waffle House
• Arby’s
• McDonald’s
• Generic Mexican Place

All of those Suck.

There’s a billion simple and tasty things you can make in your own home for super cheap. I’m not talking about PB&J or Tomato soup from a can, I’m talking taboulli, hummus, lentil soup, stir fry, chili, grilled vegetables, unbagged salad: good stuff. These things aren’t difficult to make: at the easiest they involve pouring stuff into a can, at the worst cutting some vegetables.

My school offers cooking courses, but none of them focus on making good food. It’s either silly home economics (let’s make sock puppets!) or hotel/restaurant managment. Cooking is one of those skills that actually does tangibly benefit people their whole life. Cook a meal this week, you’ll be glad you did.
