Ascendancy

I’ve been playing this quite nice (for its time) DOS strategy game called Ascendancy. It’s fairly simple once you get the hang of it, but the interface is a bit obtuse. I wouldn’t recommend it for everyone, but if you like strategy games and aren’t afraid of handling a dos emulator (I like DOSBox) you should try it out.

Pixel Art

Pixel Skald

Cliche, just good enough for the cover of a highschool lit mag. I’ve seen flyers scattered around the school, some contest for $52 and 28¢. Pretty good if you ask me. The magazine is called Skald, and I thought it needed something a bit more modern then what has covered it in the past years. Hopefully, if the sponsor likes what I’ve done so far, I’ll get to do more than the cover…

Nope, no ivy and lilies for me. (Although secretly, I really do like them ^__^)

LJI Update

LJI got the huge overhaul it needed, but things aren’t finished yet. Oh no, not at all. ^__^

Anyway, I’ve added a whole nuch of cool features, but these are the ones that still aren’t done:

  • A list of the last 500 or so last fetched images.
  • A list of the last 200 or so images that have been clicked on.
  • The ability to recommend images so that other LJI users can see cool ones. (So you don’t have to go to Portal of Evil or other image boards.)

Working with it I’ve come up with some other features I hadn’t even thought of before, like a “staleness” timer that tells you how long it’s been since you last refreshed, and a templating system that means comepletely changing the output of the script requires only changing some HTML.

I’m pretty proud of it ^__^; I’ve put alot of work into it and it seems to only be getting better. Things are good like that. Expect the usual non-LJI entries to return soon …

Robo Panda!

EDIT (2005-1-20):
More cool features to add:

  • A link next to “Fetch Again” that pops to the next image down.
  • A “X images served” counter (maybe, this seems egotistical and unnessacery)

More will be added as I come up with them or they are suggested.
